SMS Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 1, 2026

These SMS Terms & Conditions ("SMS Terms") apply to text messaging programs operated by Ovid Org ("Ovid Org," "we," "us," or "our"), both for our own communications and for messaging programs we operate on behalf of the nonprofits and businesses ("clients") we serve. By opting in to receive text messages, you agree to these SMS Terms.

1. Program description

When you opt in, Ovid Org (or a client program operated by Ovid Org) may send you recurring text messages, which can include: account and transactional messages (such as confirmations, appointment and event reminders, and account notifications); nonprofit and community messages (such as event updates, volunteer coordination, and donation or fundraising information, including for our Experience Springfield Township community initiative); marketing and promotional messages; and messages sent on behalf of a client under that client's own program and brand. The specific program you joined determines the messages you will receive.

2. How you opt in (consent)

You provide your express consent to receive text messages by submitting your mobile phone number and checking the SMS consent checkbox on a web form operated by Ovid Org or by one of our clients. The consent language on that form describes the specific program you are joining. Consent to receive marketing or promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

You confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide, and that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the program and your interactions with us. For example, transactional messages are sent as needed, and recurring program messages may be sent periodically. You will be told the expected frequency, where applicable, at the point of opt-in.

4. Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply to any messages you send or receive. Ovid Org does not charge for the messages themselves, but your carrier may. Check your mobile plan for details.

5. Opting out (STOP)

You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP to the number from which you received messages. After you send STOP, we will send you a one-time confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive text messages from that program. If you want to rejoin, simply opt in again.

6. Help (HELP)

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, text HELP to the number from which you received messages for assistance, or contact us at [email protected]. You can also reply HELP for information about the program.

7. Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed. Supported carriers may change over time.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Information you provide in connection with our SMS program is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your mobile opt-in information, phone number, or SMS consent with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in and consent data are only shared with our messaging subprocessor (for example, Twilio) as needed to deliver the messages you requested. When we operate a program on behalf of a client, your information is used only for that client's program.

9. Changes to these SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date and takes effect when posted.
